The first time I began work with Old Photo Restoration AI, I was not yet well aware of how complicated and satisfying that process could be. I believed that it was only a matter of correction of a few scratches or change of color. I did not know, there is so much more to it. Restoration of old photos is much more than mere edits and there are just a few things I wish I was aware of before getting into it.

To start with, it does not go as easily as it looks. Some of the pictures may only need slight touch-ups, whereas others may need more such as restoring the torn or faded parts. I soon discovered that it can be a rather time consuming process and in case the photo has been greatly damaged over the years. The most important thing is patience, and it is necessary to have time to repair every image in the correct way.
The other thing that came as a surprise to me was the significance of the tools that I was working with. Although there exist numerous applications and programs that purport to provide photo restoration services, the more professional ones proved to be a big difference in the overall quality of the end product. The right software, such as Photoshop, was important in making sure the fine details are correct, such as cleaning up dirt, restoring the textures, or changing the contrast and brightness.
Finally, the art of restoring old photos is a technique that is acquired through practice. Although I did a lot of mistakes at the very first steps, with every released photo, I acquired new knowledge. And now when I look at what I have done, I am proud to say that I have contributed to preserving history.
